This is achieved through the development of codes of ethics or practice guidelines to ensure members adhere to high professional standards. Social responsibility and accountability within the profession is envisaged as an outcome of setting professional standards.

The focus is on recognising and acknowledging the achievements and expertise of its members. The professional body establishes criteria and processes for accrediting professionals, which is achieved through awarding professional designations, which serves to demonstrate a certain level of competence and expertise in the field. The provision of alternative access routes into professional designations through RPL will lower the barriers towards achieving professional recognition.

Networking and collaboration create opportunities for professionals to network and collaborate with others in their field. This will be achieved through organising events, conferences, and forums where members can exchange ideas, share knowledge, and build professional relationships.

The ICFF will function as advocate for members, representing their interests and concerns to regulatory bodies, government agencies, and other relevant stakeholders. This can be achieved through engage in lobbying efforts, participation in policy discussions, and providing expert advice on industry-related matters.

Lifelong learning and continuous professional development among members is advocated and facilitated through continued professional development. This will be offered through making resources available, publications, and opportunities for professional growth to help members stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements. Recognition of continued professional events from related industries, provides further impetus to this objective.

The ICFF will also engage in research and related activities for the dissemination knowledge to contribute to advancing the field of customs and freight forwarding. This can be achieved through journals, reports, and research papers that contribute to the body of knowledge in the industry.
